Sanford Institute of Philanthropy
Preparing nonprofit leaders to innovate worldwide
Successful entrepreneur and philanthropist T. Denny Sanford has always believed in sharing his success with others. Inspired by big-picture movements like the Giving Pledge, founded by fellow businessmen and philanthropists Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, Mr. Sanford has pledged to give the majority of his fortune away to charity and to work tirelessly to make the world a better place, especially in the avenues of philanthropy, fundraising and education.
As he surveyed the nonprofit environment, Mr. Sanford noticed a deficit in programs that teach professional fundraisers how to improve their fundraising skills and effectively teach nonprofit managers how to lead their organizations. Out of this awareness he established the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy at the School of Business and Management at National University. The Institute offers seminars, certificates and degree programs designed to prepare exemplary nonprofit leaders for the 21st century and dramatically increase the impact of charitable organizations in the U.S. In addition, the Sanford Institute of Philanthropy's Path to Successful Philanthropy program is available to colleges and universities throughout the U.S., furthering Mr. Sanford's passion for making a difference in the world.
